Creativity is booming
When the world went into lockdown, we were physically confined, isolated, and restricted. But did that isolation truly succeed in separating us? The truth is, while we may have been cut off from each other physically, something powerful began to emerge from within: our natural creativity.
We are, at our core, creative beings—whether that creativity is expressed through art, innovation, conversation, or how we choose to live. During lockdown, many of us discovered that creativity in unexpected ways.
Before the pandemic, our minds were constantly distracted—by long commutes, endless meetings, school runs, social obligations, and the constant pursuit of "more." These distractions pulled us away from ourselves and dulled the creative spark that lives inside each of us.
But in the stillness of lockdown, something changed.
We began to turn inward.
We reconnected—with our thoughts, with our hands, with our inner voice.
Sales of art supplies surged. Online garden centers couldn’t keep up with demand. DIY stores reported record-breaking numbers. Even white paint was consistently out of stock. These weren’t just consumer trends—they were signs of a global creative awakening. In homes around the world, people were painting, planting, building, crafting, and rediscovering joy in the simple act of making something.
I personally chose to tune out from the constant noise of mainstream media and the exhausting race of modern life. With my energy no longer spent rushing from one obligation to the next, I redirected it into creating—into art, into presence, into peace.
Since 2020, we’ve seen an unprecedented wave of people leaving unfulfilling jobs in search of more meaningful paths. Isn’t that, in itself, a form of creativity? The courage to redesign your life is one of the most powerful forms of expression.
So while the world may have tried to lock us down, it couldn’t lock down the human spirit.
And creativity? It’s not just surviving—it’s booming.
